A shipping upsell shows customers how close they are to free shipping and nudges them to add a little more to their order. It’s a simple way to lift average order value during the post-purchase window, when the customer is already looking at their order. It shows as a free-shipping bar on the Thank you and Order status pages. While the order is below your threshold, the bar tells the customer how much more to add to qualify. Once they cross it, the bar switches to a message confirming they’ve qualified for free shipping.

How to set it up

1

Open Recheck and click Upsells in the left menu.

2

Choose the Shipping upsell and turn the bar on.

3

Set your free-shipping threshold.

Enter the order value at which free shipping starts. You set it in your store’s currency, and customers see it converted to their own.
4

Write the bar's message.

Set the copy customers see before they qualify, and the copy they see once they’ve crossed the threshold. The preview shows both states so you can check them side by side.
5

Save, then add the Shipping upsell block to your checkout pages.

Like Recheck’s other extensions, the bar shows only where you place its block. See how to add Recheck extensions.
Set the threshold to match the free-shipping rule in your Shopify shipping settings. If the two don’t line up, the bar can promise free shipping the order won’t actually get.
