Quick setup guide

This guide will cover only the critical setup elements to get up and running after you’ve installed Recheck. Each area of the app has its own in-depth guide in these docs. In the Recheck app, you’ll find those areas in the left menu: Settings, Modules, Rules, Upsells, Integrations and Analytics, with Translations and Billing under View more. When you install Recheck the first time, you will see the Recheck setup wizard which walks you through the important steps. Even if you have skipped the setup wizard, you can follow the steps below. The setup wizard will ask you to configure:

1. Order editing window

Select how long you want to allow your customers to edit their orders. You can pick from the default options or set a custom time.

2. Refund options

Select how you want Recheck to handle automated refunds, such as back to the original payment method or as store credits. You set refund methods separately for downgrades and for cancellations. See Refunds for every option. You can skip this if none of your enabled modules can reduce the cart value.

3. Order editing restrictions (optional)

If you have any orders for which you do not want to allow editing (example - B2B orders), you can enter those restricted order tags.

4. Enable order editing modules

Select which editing options you want your customers to have access to. There are no mandatory edits you have to enable, but we recommend picking all the ones you get asked about on your support often.

5. Add Recheck’s extensions

Recheck works by adding the app extension to your Thank you and Order status pages, adding order editing capabilities to your existing Shopify pages. Click Set up app blocks on the Recheck Dashboard to open Shopify’s checkout editor, then follow Add Recheck’s extensions.
