Recheck doesn’t add itself to your storefront automatically. To show the order editing UI to your customers, you add Recheck’s blocks to your Thank you and Order status pages using Shopify’s checkout editor. This is a one-time setup for each checkout configuration.

The Recheck blocks

Recheck Order Edit

The main order editing interface. It shows the modules you’ve enabled, so customers can edit their order from the Thank you and Order status pages.

Recheck Post Purchase Upsell

Shows matching post-purchase upsell offers. Add this only if you’re using Recheck’s upsells.

Recheck Payment Reminder

A prominent banner that prompts customers to complete payment when an edit leaves a balance due. Best placed on the Order status page.

Add the blocks

1

Open your checkout settings

In your Shopify admin, click Settings in the bottom-left, then select Checkout.
2

Customize your checkout

On your active checkout configuration, click Customize to open the checkout editor.
3

Switch to the Thank you page

Use the page dropdown at the top of the editor (it opens on Checkout) and select Thank you.
4

Add the Recheck blocks

In the left rail, under the Main section, click Add block and choose Recheck Order Edit. If you use upsells, also add Recheck Post Purchase Upsell.
5

Repeat for the Order status page

Select Order status from the same page dropdown and add the same blocks. Add Recheck Payment Reminder here too if you want the payment-due banner.
6

Save

Click Save in the top-right.

Order Edit block settings

When you select the Recheck Order Edit block, two settings appear in the right rail:
  • Template — choose Dropdown (each module is an expandable row, the default) or Blocks (modules show as a tile grid). Both show the same modules; it’s only a layout choice.
  • Type of Extension — choose Order editing (the full editing UI, default) or Discount Code (a compact discount-code input). To offer both, add the Recheck Order Edit block twice: once as Order editing, and once as Discount Code.

Where to place each block

  • Recheck Order Edit and Recheck Post Purchase Upsell — place in Main, above the fold, on both pages, so customers don’t miss them.
  • Recheck Order Edit (Discount Code) — place in the Order summary so it sits where customers expect a discount field.
  • Recheck Payment Reminder — add to the Order status page only. Shopify doesn’t auto-refresh the Thank you page after an edit, so the reminder belongs on Order status.
While editing, you may see a yellow “Follow the steps on this guide to setup and test Recheck” banner on the Recheck blocks. It only shows in the editor preview — your customers never see it on your live store.
Add the blocks to both the Thank you and Order status pages: Thank you shows right after checkout, and Order status shows on refresh or via the order-confirmation email. If you have more than one checkout configuration, repeat this setup for each one.
