Open Recheck and click on Modules in the left menu.

Select Replace product from the list of modules.

Enable the "Replace product" toggle

This allows customers to replace an existing product in their order with a different one.

Enable or disable the "Decrease cart value" toggle

If enabled, customers can choose a replacement that is lower in value than the original item.

How a replacement works

A replacement swaps the whole line: every unit of the original product is replaced with the same number of units of the new one. The price comparison uses the per-unit price the customer actually paid, so an item bought on discount is compared at its discounted price. Any difference is settled as a payment or refund. The replacement picker shows your full catalog of available products. The include / exclude tag lists from Add product don’t apply to it.

Decrease cart value option

By default, Recheck will only show replacement options that are equal to or higher in value than the item being replaced. Enabling the Decrease cart value toggle allows customers to switch to lower-priced alternatives, which can be useful if:
  • A customer wants to downgrade or remove a premium add-on.
  • The original item was added by mistake and they prefer a cheaper version.
  • You want to prioritize flexibility and customer satisfaction over strict AOV protection.
If you want to protect your average order value or avoid issuing partial refunds, you may want to leave this option disabled.
