This is a very valid question.
Several brands we work with used to have a policy that they don't allow for any changes to an order after it's placed.
Or, they do allow for order editing but it takes away valuable time from you and your team which could have been better spent on other aspects of your business.
Either way, this sucks. Both for you as a brand, and for your customers.
Allowing customers to edit their own orders comes with huge benefits:
Reduce support tickets - On average we are seeing between 30-40% reduction in all tickets received.
Improve customer experience - Customers are able to fix their own mistakes without having to wait for another person to help them out.
Reduce support costs - As your tickets reduce, so does the cost of any connected support apps that charge on the number of tickets and/or the costs of support personnel in your team
Increase revenue - Customers can be shown post purchase upsells via Recheck to easily increase your AOV
